Movie Review: Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa

THE MALAY CHRONICLES : BLOODLINES (HIKAYAT MERONG MAHAWANGSA) SYNOPSIS

Based loosely on the 16th century historical document entitled ‘The Malay Annals’, ’The Chronicles of Merong Mahawangsa’ is an action-packed epic feature film, with mythical characters, magical moments and dazzling visual-effects sequences. Merong Mahawangsa was a descendant of Alexander the Great, a renowned naval captain and traveler who came to Asia several hundred years ago.
The year is 120 AD… a time when the Roman Empire is at the height of its power, during the reign of Hadrian – one of the Five Good Emperors. Meanwhile in China, the Han Dynasty is firmly cemented as the ruling empire and is expanding into Central Asia… one hundred years before the period of the Three Kingdoms. As the Roman fleet did their repairs and traded in Goa, they asked Merong Mahawangsa to escort a Roman prince to Southeast Asia, to wed a beautiful Chinese princess from the Han Dynasty. The Chinese princess and the Roman prince are supposed to meet halfway and be married on neutral grounds.
However, the pirate nation of Geruda had other plans. They decided to kidnap the Chinese princess and use her as ransom. En route to the Straits of Melaka, Merong Mahawangsa’s fleet was attacked by Geruda’s forces while stopping at a small island to replenish supplies.
Will Merong Mahawangsa be able to rescue the Princess and re-unite her with her betrothed in a marriage that is set to bring together two great civilizations from the East and West ?

The movie trailer

After waching the movie..

It is easier to criticize (by just typing a few lines) but it is never easy to make a movie in Malaysia with limited budget and limited market. Yusry (Director) gave his heart and soul to direct the movie even at one point of time almost giving up and was giving instruction while lying down because he is sea-sick. At a budget of RM8 Million of USD2.7 Million is nothing compared to the failures of some hollywood movies with a budget of more than USD100 million.
I love the music background & sound effect! Of course, before watching 8Million worth Malaysian movie I expect something outstanding. But, going to the movie with some high expectations, i am eventually very impressed! Personally, I believe there should be a lot more realistic action, better dialogs, better angles and editing. However, the director has done a good job although he may not be able to satisfy every single audience. Overall, the product is very good. The attempt to make an epic-action movie is satisfactory. Great effort!

How To Get a Beautiful Skin

The Beauty Treatments

* Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. The Mediterranean diet is great for skin. Salmon and foods rich in omega 3’s make a positive impact. When it concerns your skin, you are what you eat.

* Keep your skin clean and moisturize dry skin; dermatologists recommend moisturizing dry skin twice a day and overnight.

* For oily skin use toner or natural fruit acids.

* A little sun is healthy and mood-elevating. However, protect your face by wearing a sunscreen.

* Green tea is anti-inflammatory and in the lab has been shown to heal skin.

* Drink water to clean out toxins.

* Exercise to shed stress hormones and improve circulation.

* Get your beauty sleep; skin regenerates and hormones balance.

* Don’t smoke and stay away from second hand smoke and other obvious pollutants.

* Aim for good health. When you are healthy, you look more youthful and act that way. Illness weighs you down and saps your energy.

* Smile and you will look younger and prettier.

*Don’t force your beauty. Enhance it. Avoid harsh chemicals and treatments. Avoid drastic changes and a lot of makeup. Simplify with a more natural approach. Express who you are — not some artificial ideal. Don’t mask the real you. Living the truth of who you are is gorgeous!

Students must vote during the 'Students' Election' because....

Why is it important to participate in the Student Election process by voting? That's an interesting question with several different ways in which to answer it. Voting is the foremost way to exhibit good student and civil responsibility.
Voting in free elections is a right that should not be taken lightly. Voting is a patriotic act and every student should participate. By voting, a person conveys that sense of patriotism that he/she cares enough about the direction of the university to exercise the power available to millions and millions of student to make their voices heard.

No matter how much a student feels their single vote does not count, they are dead wrong. If every student believes that his or her vote doesn't matter, the sheer volume of non-voters will destroy the democratic process.

Everyone should recognize the importance of voting and act accordingly. Rather than just sit back and complain when something the university administration does isn't in your best interest, get out and vote and make a difference. Eligible voters who refuse to do so have absolutely no right to complain when they did nothing at all to protect their interests when they have that exact power.

10 Stop-Shopping Tips

Some people hate shopping, some love it–and the ones who love it seem to really love it. In a my-credit-card-is-through-the-roof and I-have-way-too-much-stuff kind of way. Too much stuff usually means clutter and clutter, for many, is the bane of the day.

10 tips to kick the habit?

1. Go shopping only when you need something. Go with a list of what you need and stick to it.

2. To minimize impulse buying, leave your credit card at home. If you’re willing to pay cash for an item, it’s generally something that you really love or need.

3. If you see something you really want, walk away from it. Go to a different store, get a drink, or use the restroom. If you really want or need that item, it will be worth the walk back.

4. Before you buy any organizing product, ask yourself if you could just eliminate or minimize the things you were planning to organize.

5. Don’t buy something just because it is on sale. Buy it because you either need it or love it.

6. Buy clothes in coordinating shades. You’ll need fewer shoes and accessories to go with your outfits if you stick to the basics. You can plan your wardrobe around two or three basic colors for each season. Not only does it make daily dressing easier, but packing for a trip is simpler because you aren’t tempted to pack things that don’t mix or match.

7. Purchase only items to replace things that are worn out.

8. Think twice about buying souvenirs. Take photographs or keep a journal instead.

9. Don’t buy something if you already have something that can do the same job.

10. Remember that the very best things in life are free. Instead of spending money on stuff you won’t use or need a year from now, spend time with a friend or family member or with a good book.

Great Leaders are not born there are made

Definition of Leadership..

Many people believe that leadership is simply being the first, biggest or most powerful. Leadership in organizations has a different and more meaningful definition. Very simply put, a leader is interpreted as someone who sets direction in an effort and influences people to follow that direction -- the people can be oneself, another individual, a group, an organization or a community.

Good leaders are made not born.
If we have the desire and willpower, we can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience .
Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are NOT resting on their laurels.

It can be said that some personality traits may lead people naturally into leadership roles.A crisis or important event may cause a person to rise to the occasion, which brings out extraordinary leadership qualities in an ordinary person..However people can choose to become leaders. People can learn leadership skills.

Knowledge is power that can influence people to become a leader. Truthfully, knowledge is potential power; only when it’s applied does it become true power.
We can be a leader when we have the ability to conduct others in any group or community by having good attitudes such as discipline, trustworthy, knowledgeable, fair, high of self confidence and many more. Thus, people will elect us as a leader and they will be motivated to do so. Hence, it is not impossible to all of us to become a leader.

5 Types of Friends to Avoid in Your Life

Do you have a couple of friends that always use you and make you feel awful? It is best to avoid these types of people as they don't make you feel positive about yourself.

Here a couple of friends you should avoid in your life:

1. The complainer.
This friend always likes to complain about something. It could be the air that he or she is breathing or the little things like having dirt on the bottom of the shoe.

2. The drama queen.
This person is always exaggerating things and complains how it is going to scar him/her for the rest of their life. If you go out with this type of person, doing normal things can be downright painful and difficult.

3. The user.
He/she always wants something from you but never returns the favor. This is annoying because friends meant to share and both people should mutually benefit. With these types of people, you tend to leave your wallet or the most precious possessions at home so they don't ask you for anything.

4. The stinker.
This person smells a lot and everywhere you go, people will complain about your friend's body odor. You always ask the person to have a shower and put some deodorant on but never do.

5. The negative guy.
He is always negative and has nothing good to say about anyone.

*Friends should be there with you when you are at your worst and at your best*

Birth Order Trait

Birth order is defined as a person's rank by age among his or her siblings. Birth order is often believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development.

Birth Order Trait

Here is a table showing some of the birth order character traits, both bad and good, associated with first, middle, last-born, and only children.

First Middle Last
Natural Leader Flexible Risk-taker
High Achiever Easy-going Outgoing
Organized Social Creative
On-time Peacemakers Self-centered
Know-it-all Independent Financially irresponsible
Bossy Secretive Competitive
Responsible May feel life is unfair Bored easily
Adult-pleaser Strong negotiator Likes to be pampered

I am as the middle child thinks that..

                              Middle child is:
  • Flexible - i am
  • Easy going - i am
  • Social - not
  • Peacemakers - sometimes
  • Independent - sometimes
  • Secretive - i am
  • May feel life unfair - not
  • Generous - i'm not sure.*just let people to judge

Some of the theory of the birth trait is not relevant. Many people think that the middle child gets the least attention or being neglected in family. That is so not true. I feel my life is fair as my parents is not a favoritism parents. They treat their  other child fairly. However i admit that i am not an over achiever.

    The eldest child..

In my observations, In my family my eldest brother have a higher IQ among my siblings. He is a responsible son too. May be by chance that the birth order trait is correct. But my eldest brother is so pampered with my parents. However the birth trait said that eldest child is a bossy person. This is not relevant as a birth trait not necessarily can describe a person's attitude. It did not influence the person's personality.

Your Favourite Colour: What it says about you

Whether we’re a vibrant Orange, or a peaceful Blue, our color preferences are a key to understanding our personalities. Find out what this color expert has to say about your favorite color. What does it reveal about who you really are?

White: Symbolic of purity, innocence and naivete, white has strong connotations of youth and purity. If you are an older person, your preference for white could indicate a desire for perfection and impossible ideals, maybe an attempt to recapture lost youth and freshness. It may also symbolize a desire for simplicity or the simple life.

Red: The color of strength, health, and vitality, Red is often the color chosen by someone outgoing, aggressive, vigorous and impulsive—or someone who would like to be! It goes with an ambitious nature but those who choose it can be abrupt at times, determined to get all they can out of life, quick to judge people and take sides. Red people are usually optimistic and can’t stand monotony; they are rather restless and not at all introspective, so they may be unaware of their own shortcomings. They find it hard to be objective and may blame others for any mishaps. Quiet people with a preference for red may feel the need for the warmth, strength and life-giving qualities of the color, or they blanket their true feelings under a sober exterior. Red is usually chosen by people with open and uncomplicated natures, with a zest for life

Pink: This color embodies the gentler qualities of Red, symbolizing love and affection without passion. Women who prefer Pink tend to be maternal. Pink desires protection, special treatment and a sheltered life. Pink people require affection and like to feel loved and secure, perhaps wanting to appear delicate and fragile. Pink people tend to be charming and gentle, if a trifle indefinite.

Green: The color of harmony and balance, Green symbolizes hope, renewal and peace, and is usually liked by the gentle and sincere. Greens are generally frank, community-minded people, fairly sociable but preferring peace at any price. Green people can be too self-effacing, modest and patient, so they may get exploited by others. They are usually refined, civilized and reputable.

Yellow: The color of happiness, wisdom and imagination, Yellow is chosen by the mentally adventurous, searching for novelty and self-fulfillment. Yellow usually goes with a sunny and shrewd personality, with a good business head and a strong sense of humor. It is the color of intellectuality and all things to do with the mind. Yellow folks are usually clear and precise thinkers who have a good opinion of their own mental capacities and who have lofty ideals. They may at times tend to shun responsibility, preferring freedom of thought and action

Purple: Purples are highly individual, fastidious, witty and sensitive, with a strong desire to be unique and different. Temperamental, expansive and artistic, a Purple person may become aloof and sarcastic when misunderstood. If you chose Purple, you tend to be unconventional, tolerant and dignified, likely to achieve positions of authority.

Blue: Soft, soothing, compassionate and caring, Blue is the color of deliberation and introspection, conservatism and duty. Patient, persevering, conscientious, sensitive and self-controlled, Blues like to be admired for their steady character and wisdom. They are faithful, but are often worriers with somewhat inflexible beliefs and can be too cautious, and suspicious of flamboyant behavior.

Black: Dignified and impressive without being showy, Black people want to give the appearance of mystery, but their preference may also indicate a suppression of desires and worldly aims, suggesting hidden depths and inner longings
